Victoria Kononova offers cultural background on Russian folktales, especially 'Snow Child'

In this podcast, Amanda Murphy of UAA’s Langauges department introduces Victoria Kononova, a doctoral candidate studying Slavic languages at the University of Wisconsin. Her dissertation is titled “Nationalism, Ethnography, and the Appropriation of the Folktale in Late Nineteenth Century Russian Literature and Culture.” This event was co-sponsored by the UAA Languages Department.
