2012-12-07 by News, Sports, and Art

Nathan Welker is a UAA student who has served as a volunteer mentor for the Refugee Assistance and Immigration Services (RAIS) program, offered by Catholic Social Services here in Anchorage.

Several mentors share their experiences in volunteering with the RAIS program. Family mentors have volunteer agreements for a minimum of six months and a wealth of new experiences and new cultural understandings for themselves!

Welker began as a family mentor as a capstone experience in the Civic Engagement Certificate program and following an internship in Senegal. He created this panel presentation as a part of his capstone course.

This podcast was recorded Dec. 3, 2012 at the UAA Campus Bookstore.
