UAA Professor Kelly Shannon on U.S. Foreign Policy and Women's Rights

Kelly J. Shannon is an assistant professor in the Department of History at UAA. She studies the history of U.S. foreign relations, the modern Islamic world and international feminism. She is working on her first book, ‘Veiled Intentions: Islam, Global Feminism and U.S. Foreign Policy since 1979,’ which examines how Americans’ concerns about the rights of women in Islamic countries have been integrated into U.S. foreign policy in recent decades.
