After just a year and a half working on photography, UAA sophomore Joel Adams has found a niche photographing local bands and models. Here are excerpts from a conversation with Joel about photography, how to get started, his equipment, his influences and how he’s maximized his opportunities at UAA.

His show at the UAA Student Union Gallery will be available July 18-August 15. The opening reception is July 18 5-7 pm. This conversation was recorded July 16, 2012, with Kathleen McCoy of UAA Advancement.
