'Braided Streams:' Alaska poets read from their work

This collection of poems, recently published by “Cirque,” features the work of Miriam Beck, Mike Burwell, Gretchen Diemer, Sherry Eckrich, Deb Liggett, Marie Lundstom, John McKay, Paul Winkel and Tonja Woebler. At this event, several poets read from their work. “Cirque” is a literary journal for the North Pacific Rim.

Author David Vann reads from his nonfiction book 'Last Day on Earth'

‘Alaska Quarterly Review’ presents David Vann, best-selling and award-winning author of ‘Legend of a Suicide,’ for a reading and craft talk about his latest nonfiction book, ‘Last Day on Earth,’ an investigation into the Northern Illinois University school shooting. Kirkus Reviews calls the book: “A carefully crafted account of a descent into fatal madness.” Vann is introduced by Alaska author and UAA assistant professor Don Rearden.

Vann’s visit to Alaska is courtesy of the Alaska Library Association, the Alaska State Library, the Rasmuson Foundation and the Copper Whale Inn.
