'The Unknowability of God' with Dr. Denys Turner

2011-04-16 by News, Sports, and Art

The philosophy department will host its 6th Annual Undergraduate Philosophy Conference April 8-9. This year, the conference theme is the philosophy of religion.

The conference will begin with a keynote address by Professor of Religion at the Yale Divinity School, Dr. Denys Turner, on Friday, April 8 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the UAA/APU Consortium Library, room 307. Turner’s talk, “The Unknowability of God,” will challenge both atheists and theists to confront the certainty of their claims that God either does or does not exist. Instead of relying on certainty, Turner will encourage us to embrace the child-like wonder in asking questions about God from a different perspective. Turner’s talk will be followed by discussion with the audience.

This podcast was recorded on April 8, 2011.
