Smaller newsrooms, commentary blogs, Twitter—what does it all mean for the news consumer and for the aspiring journalism student. Seasoned journalist Patrick Yack offers insight into the challenges, conflicts and opportunities that the current petri dish of journalism offers us. He also introduces the topic of an April 8 panel: Palin, Politics and the Internet, with local journalists Kyle Hopkins of the Anchorage Daily News, Tony Hopfinger of Alaska Dispatch, and Rachel D’Oro of the Associated Press. This event is in the UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307 at 1 p.m. on April 8.
