Belugas In AlaskaLocal biologist, Barbara Mahoney gave a brief lecture on Monday, Feb. 26, at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium on the feeding patterns and movement of Belugas within Alaskan waters. She graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and took a job with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. She has been studying belugas in Alaska since 1990, and she specializes in beluga behavior and movement within the Cook Inlet region. She currently serves as the National Marine Fishery Service’s representative in all beluga management issues.
