2007 Kachemak Bay Writers' Conference

Writers ConferenceHeld each year in Homer, Alaska, the nationally recognized Kachemak Bay Writers’ Conference features workshops, readings and panel presentations in fiction, poetry, non-fiction and the business of writing. The conference, sponsored by UAA’s Kenai Peninsula College Kachemak Bay Campus, took place from June 8th through 12th, 2007 at the Land’s End Resort, situated at the end of the Homer Spit.

Keynote speaker Amy Tan, award-winning author of The Joy Luck Club, addressed hundreds of writers who gathered to learn more about their craft. Other visiting authors and editors included Kent Meyers, Sue Silverman, Kate Gale and Tricia Brown, among many others.

Jessica Hamlin, our correspondent from UAA’s Office of Advancement, traveled to Homer to attend the Kachemak Bay Writers’ Conference. While there, Jessica attended workshops and spoke with visiting authors and editors about their work and experience at the conference.
