WWAMI anatomy instructor Jamie Elswick won the 2017 Selkregg Community Engagement & Learning Award with a mobile foot- and wound-care clinic idea inspired by a service-learning partnership UAA's Dr. Michele Burdette-Taylor launched at Central Lutheran Church. The project will help her students gain valuable “street medicine” expertise while earning credit; volunteer nurses are on hand in case a person at the clinic needs care that is outside a student’s skill set.
