TODAY: Conversation Salon Series: ‘Raising Families and the Working Poor,’ Nov. 15

November 11, 2011

Tuesday, Nov. 15, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Ann Stevens Room, Loussac Library

Judith Owens-Manley of UAA’s Center for Community Engagement and Learning will facilitate a Conversation Salon Series discussion, “Raising Families and the Working Poor.”

The UAA/APU Books of the Year program has partnered with Loussac Library to co-host the Conversation Salon Series, a series of discussions held in the Ann Stevens Room at Loussac Library on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from September to May. This year’s Conversation Salon will be around the theme “The Working Poor” (in line with one of the 2011-13 Books of the Year books, The Working Poor: Invisible in America by David Shipler.) The sessions are not presentations, but opportunities for attendees to discuss issues relevant to themselves and the community.
