The UAA Center for Behavioral Health Research and Services’ Arctic SBIRT Training is pleased to offer a free interactive Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) workshop to UAA faculty, staff and community members.

This workshop will enable the participant to:

  • Describe what SBIRT is and its purpose
  • Conduct a screening for alcohol use using a standardized screening tool
  • Describe and conduct a brief intervention using Motivational Interviewing core skills and concepts
  • Discuss referral to treatment and other avenues of support
  • Faculty: Use this curriculum in the classroom with students

While this workshop is aimed primarily at faculty and health care professionals, students are also welcome to attend.
