KRUA runs Peabody Award Winning program

December 13, 2007

KRUA 88.1 FM, Your University Voice, is playing shows unlike anything it has ever aired before. In an effort to broaden the programmatic portfolio, KRUA will be airing “The Wire,” from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on Tuesday mornings 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. The 8-part series takes a look at the impact of electricity on music. From Les Paul to the guy that works for Muzak and back again, the show interviews artists and business people who shaped the past and are shaping the future of music.

Part audio documentary, part audio art, this beautifully mixed series is candy for the ear and took three international awards home to Canada (Prix Italia, Third Coast International Audio Award, and the Peabody).

Tune in to “The Wire” on KRUA 88.1 FM Tuesday mornings at 9:00 a.m.
