Don’t miss this special opportunity to experience LIVE music at the UAA Planetarium performed by some of the most talented young musicians in Alaska. Stunning fulldome visuals have been developed in collaboration with the musicians to accompany the performances. Six chamber ensembles will perform works by Dvorak, Strauss, Ravel, Rota and others as you are transported out to sea with the H.M.S. Beagle, through the event horizon of a black hole and back in time to witness the impact that killed the dinosaurs.
The Anchorage Youth Symphony provides high quality orchestral performance experiences for close to 100 talented young musicians, and furthers musicianship of members through rehearsals, concerts, education, tours and community involvement. The chamber music program highlights about 20 of the most accomplished AYS musicians each year.
Ticket reservations are available online only. Remaining tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at the door on the day of the show. The planetarium will open for seating 30 minutes before the start of each show. You must be in the theater 10 minutes before the show starts. Reserved seats will be released after this time to stand-by customers. There is no entry after the show begins.
