The University Sinfonia will present its fall 2011 concert titled “North-South” this Saturday. Lauded by critics for its “uncanny focus,” Sinfonia will open with the lush string writing featured in “Kanon” by Johann Pachelbel as well as “Romanze in C” by Jean Sibelius followed by the operatic writing of Gioachino Antonio Rossini’s “String Sonata No. 1″ and “String Sonata No. 6.” The concert finishes with Rossini’s “Tempesta,” a parody in the study of scales.
Tickets are sold exclusively through the UAA Box Office. Please call (907) 786-4TIX (4849). No reserved seating.
