UAA’s freshman retention rates are approaching an all-time high, according to figures published by the UA Office of Institutional Research & Analysis. The first-time, full-time retention rate among baccalaureate degree seeking freshmen increased to 71.5 percent in FY13, a 0.8 percent increase from FY12 and a 3.9 percent increase from FY06. The overall (associate and baccalaureate combined) first-time, full-time degree-seeking retention rate increased to 67.6 percent for FY13, a 1.3 percent increase from FY12 and a 4.4 percent increase from FY06.
Early indications are that students in this year’s freshman class are on the way to breaking UAA’s retention rate record. As of today, nearly 90 percent of Anchorage-campus, degree-seeking freshmen that enrolled for the first-time in fall 2012 are continuing with their enrollment this spring semester.
